How many pacifiers have I lost in a year?
The questions haunts me. Especially when I’m standing in the pacifier aisle, promising myself this is the last pack I am going to buy, like I did the time before, and the time before that. I will never be able to solve the mystery of where they all go. And I’m sure many other moms and dads have the same nightmare/problem.
I remember thinking when I was pregnant I would never ever use a pacifier. I didn’t need them, we were going to be just fine. But that went out the window fast when I started nursing my daughter and she was using me as a human pacifier. Pacifiers or “pacis” saved my sanity and kept me breastfeeding for as long as I have. So when you lose 20+ pacifiers in 6 months your sanity starts slipping away. As new parents in the first few months I think we spent 50% more time searching for pacifiers then she actually used it. It came down to realizing I only had 2 pacifiers left and I needed to find a way to not lose them. I finally looked up pacifier clips, because I originally had the wrong impression that they were not possible to use for the pacifiers we had. The first ones to come up on my beloved Amazon was Bella Tunno.
Since these pacifier clips came into our lives I can proudly say we have gone 5 months with the same 2 pacifiers!! Thank you Bella Tunno!
They are easily looped and slip knotted onto your pacifier (that is what those little holes are for. Who knew!!) and then clipped onto your child’s clothing or swaddle. The clip design makes sure that it does not leave marks or even littles holes in your child’s clothing.
The clips are 100% made in the good ole USA. Which makes me love the company even more. But my love doesn’t stop there. Not only do they make great products such as pacifier clips, baby knee leggings, classic functional diaper bags, and swaddle blankets– they are all around a great well rounded company. They give back to their community and people all across the United States. They have a great campaign called “Buy 1, Give 1”, that donates a meal to a person in need in the U.S. for every product bought. Last year they donated 180,000 meals and projected to do about 200,000 this year but have already surpassed that goal. As of publication of this post they have donated over 295,215 meals.
The Bella Tunno slogan “Born to Be Bright” says it all, they have so many bright, fun colors, patterns, and symbols. Plus most of their pacifier clips have two different combinations on the front and back. For an indecisive mom like me this is perfect! I only have two pacifiers left so at first I didn’t know how many clips I needed or would use. But I found I could put all of our clips to good use by saving new ones for special occasions or for certain trips. For example our trip to Cape Cod I saved a pink gingham and navy stripe, to fit a more nautical theme (you can play a game of I Spy with our pictures to find it). I usually have a light pink and grey one attached to our matching crib, and since its summer and were always down at the lake I use an anchor one. I recently saved a gold and hot pink pacifier clip for around Madeline’s birthday and it actually matched perfectly during our One Year Old photoshoot, when she needed a “paci” break from the hard work of being in the spotlight. 😛
But to be honest, having to many pacifier clips is NEVER a bad thing!!
Hints for Bella Tunno Pacifier Clip For Parents
- DO NOT give your child a pacifier without a pacifier clip
- When a child only uses a pacifier for sleeping, clip your pacifier to your crib bumper or bedding. By clipping it to your crib bedding it doesn’t leave the crib and your not searching for it at bedtime.
- Hand wash with warm water and soap, then pat dry to clean
- Keep an extra pacifier with clip attached to your carseat for easy traveling, especially when your carseat stays in the car.
- Chewing on the pacifier clip strap, rather then the actual pacifier is completely okay in my book.
- It is totally acceptable for parents to have pacifier clips attached to their clothes too!!
