Feeding a little one can be a lot of work and stress. But watching them hit the milestone of solids, then progress to chunkie, to then frozen pizza crust (best teething hack) and then anything they can steal off your plate is amazing. It’s exciting and messy, time consuming and educational, and most of fun!
Whether you make all your own baby food or buy it, when it comes to actually feeding your baby a lot of work is involved.
My number one thing to make your life easier is great products. From storage containers, spoons and bowls, to baby bullets and blenders. Great products can make feeding your baby so much easier and enjoyable. Having great products means not having to worry about if something is safe for the dishwasher, will actually purée that squash, or if it’s going to keep your food from spoiling in the fridge overnight.
My favorite baby food products are:
Oxo Baby Food Storage Containers– These storage containers allow you to store your cooked or pre-made baby food safely. They are fridge, freezer, and diaper bag safe (we’ve put them to the test). The 2 and 4 ounce container (they have measurements on the side!) are perfect to slip in your bag for your little one on the go, and the suctioned lid never comes off, no matter how many times your little drops it. They help me plan balanced meals for the week for my daughter, so I am not running around last minute trying to make sure she has a nutritious dinner while I am at work. An extra bonus that comes with the containers is the tray they can pop into, so you don’t have these tiny square containers all over your fridge or freezer. Another reason I love them is they make a great dressing containers so you do not have a soggy salad in your lunch.
Oogaa Spoons, Bowls, and Divided Plates- We love Oogaa products! For the very simple reasons of they are: microwave safe, oven safe, dishwasher safe, freezer safe. But they are also so easy to clean, bpa free, and made from highgrade silicon. Then they add the fun shapes, colors, and designs. They have plane, truck, and tugboat spoons, along with fun, monkey, octopus, and elephant designs. The divided plates allow you to make balanced perfectly portioned meals for your little. On top of all that I love products that grow with my daughter. We started using the spoons when she was just eating rice cereal, and now use all of their bowls and divided plates along with the spoon, and plan to continue to for a very long time. They are perfect for babies to older kids for snack time. An extra bonus on top of all that is you can stack the bowls and plates and use them as storage containers in the fridge or freezer.
Oogaa Place Mats- The fun designs on the high grade silicon mat allow for feeding your little to be a lot cleaner. The silicon material allow you to clean up the food eating area fast. It can easily be cleaned with just some hot soapy water and dried with a towel. Nothing is worse then is an extensive clean up process of both your baby, their area, and all of their feeding accesories. The placemats which also grow with your child, make cleaning up after meal time A LOT easier, and every parent needs an easier clean up when it comes to meal time.
Snapbibs – On the topic of easy cleanup Snapbibs allow for a much easier cleanup. I always thought cloth bibs were what you used, just because. But slowly realized cloth bibs didn’t fully cover your child and their cute clothes, and they were hard to clean and get food stains out. Snap bibs are made out of vinyl with a heavy duty snap. The heavy duty snap makes it so even an older toddler couldn’t pull their bib off. The vinyl material makes for an easy wipe off, plus they come in such beautiful fun colors!
Munchkin 360 Degree Cup- Their very innovative design helps kids hydrated, but also keeps everything else dry. It is 3 pieces in total, which is also a big plus for cleaning purposes! It helps your little one progress into a regular cup, without all the sippy cup tops and piecesMadeline loves hers because she is always trying to eat and drink whatever we have or just like us.
Nuby Snack Keeper – The perfect snack time go anywhere holder. It keeps the food in at all times, besides when that little hand needs to grab a cheerio, a cube of cheese, or whatever your little one is snacking on. Ours is a permanent staple in our diaper bag.
RePlay Divided Plates, Utensils, and Snack Containers – We have our fingers crossed that Madeline gets some of these for her birthday. Mostly because I want them in every color! They are made from recycled milk jugs, which make me feel better about how much milk we drink. They are also great for the different ages of children eaters and the colors!
Baby Bullet– I would of never started making my daughter’s food if it was not for buying the Baby Bullet set on a whim. A lot of people had told me it was nto worth it or I should jsut buy a new blender, but making baby food and what to feed my baby. It is so much more then just a smaller bullet blender. The full Baby Bullet set sets you up to make baby food and grow in makign food. It made my life so much easier because I had everything I needed, to batch cook and stock up, especially in the early stages when baby is eating. the bullet itself is easy to clean becasue it is made of only four parts. Also it is the
My daughter is about to turn one, and that means we are going on 6 months of making all of her food. I think it’s rewarding and helpful. Especially when I’m trying to get healthier and lose weight. (An organic baby food diet seems like it could have real potential for weight loss 😜).
Have any of you tried any of these products? What do you think?
What are some of your favorite food supplies and products? We’re always looking for something new that fits our crazy lifestyle.
In honor of the launch of BTW we have teamed up with Oogaa and are giving away a meal time set and placemat to a lucky Instagram follower.
